Born in Volgograd,
Russia, in 1953 , Markelov graduated from Lvov Polytechnic University of Ukraine. Being an
architect by profession he worked for a long time in Lvov in a sphere of visual
advertisement. Since 1992 he has been occupied with colour graphics. During last few years
he was transferring graphic technigue on paintings. The oil-paintings, full of bizarre and
colour burlesque, ensures Markelov's position as a serious and talented artist. He makes
most of his works to order. His works of art are in USA, Russia, Germany, Switzerland,
Portugal, Poland, France...
